Meet the Presenters

Dr Hattie Bowden-Howl

Dr Hattie Bowden-Howl is a Clinical Psychologist and has worked in the NHS and Social Services for over 14 years (such as CAMHS and looked after children's mental health services, including with their foster carers, in social services). Hattie has also worked in perinatal services and in Child Protection with frontline social workers. Her specialist interests are complex/developmental trauma as well as the influences on relationships such as attachment. Hattie is deaf and uses BSL and speech.  

This session examines the fine line between professionalism and personal connection, encouraging interpreters to reflect on their boundaries and the broader impact of their decisions on their practice and wellbeing.
