FAQs for US-Based ASL Interpreters - Can I earn RID CEUsQ1: Can I earn RID CEUs by attending The Together Conference? Yes, you can! We’ve partnered with the OCRID CMP Team to make it as easy as possible for RID-certified interpreters to claim CEUs through the Participant Initiated Non-RID Activity (PINRA) process. Standard Conference Attendance (attending all core sessions): 1.2 CEUs Enhanced Conference Access (additional points are avaialbe for attending the extended conference) OCRID already has access to all the session descriptions, learning outcomes, and presenter details—so you won’t need to gather or submit that separately. You’ll also receive a CPD certificate indicating the sessions you attended (live or via recordings), which you can use as part of your CEU submission. To get started, just email cmp@ocrid.org by 14 June 2025 and they’ll guide you through the remaining steps. Q2: How do I begin the PINRA process? While you're free to work with any RID-approved CMP Sponsor, we recommend reaching out to the OCRID CMP Team, who are already supporting The Together Conference and have all the necessary documentation in place. Here’s how the process works: Step 1: Contact the OCRID CMP Team at cmp@ocrid.org by 14 June 2025. They’ll guide you through the Participant Initiated Non-RID Activity (PINRA) process and take care of the paperwork with you. Step 2: Prefer to work with a different CMP sponsor? That’s absolutely fine. Just reach out to your chosen sponsor and let them know you’d like to submit a PINRA for The Together Conference. Step 3: If you're working with another sponsor, we've got you covered — all supporting documentation is readily available, including: Detailed session descriptions with learning outcomes and timings Speaker bios Full conference schedule CPD certificate showing sessions attended (issued after the event) Let your sponsor know if you need access to these materials, and we’ll be happy to provide them directly. Q3: Will I receive a certificate of attendance? Yes. All delegates — whether attending live or via recordings — will receive a certificate of attendance. We’ve put a verification process in place that meets RID’s requirements for CEU claims. This may include a combination of recorded log-in times, session-specific codes displayed during presentations, and short post-session reflections or quizzes. These measures ensure that your attendance can be officially verified and documented. Your certificate will reflect the sessions you attended and can be used as supporting evidence for your CEU application. Q4: What if I need additional information for my CEU application? No problem at all — the conference team is happy to help. If you or your sponsor need more detailed information (e.g. expanded outlines or clarification about content), just reach out. All session durations are already listed on the website and will be available on the conference platform. Q5: Are the sessions suitable for CEU purposes? Yes, all sessions cover topics highly relevant to professional sign language interpreting, ethics, and translation practice – we’re a conference for sign language interpreters and translators by sign language interpreters and translators. It’s always wise to discuss your chosen sessions with your sponsor to ensure alignment with RID criteria. Q6: Will there be ASL interpretation at the event? Not by default — but we’re listening. If there’s enough demand, we would be more than happy to arrange ASL interpretation for the whole conference. Please let the team know if this would support your access.
