Associate Professor Jérémie Segouat

Associate Professor Jérémie Segouat is a French-LSF interpreter and academic in the Department of Translation, Interpretation and Linguistic Mediation (D-TIM) at Toulouse Jean Jaurès University, France.

He oversees the university's two French Sign Language (LSF) bachelor's degree pathways and its LSTIM master's programme, having designed their curricula and coordinated their delivery. His teaching focuses on interpreting, linguistics, sign language video and translation. He also supervises student projects and advises on master's research.

As a member of the CLLE (Cognition, Language, Speech, Ergonomics) research laboratory, Jérémie coordinates research in sign language translation and interpreting, including the European ORA8 project. He also leads a nationally funded participatory research project examining communication and information access for people with deafblindness, alongside a collaborative project with bilingual schools exploring access to audiovisual content through LSF for Deaf children.

His work brings together interpreter education, academic research and practical approaches to improving communication and accessibility.
